The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Pennsylvania Chapter held their 25th Anniversary Madam C. J. Walker Awards Luncheon and Economic Development Seminar, Saturday March 12, 2011 at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel. Nationally acclaimed journalist and author Angela Burt-Murray is this year’s keynote speaker. The Annual Madam C. J. Walker Award, which is given to recognize outstanding African American women entrepreneurs, will be bestowed to a deserving local businesswoman. During the luncheon three women continuing education were awarded with Triple Crown Scholarships, these $1500 awards are given to an adult female continuing education, a college bound graduating senior and a current college student. In addition to the luncheon, there was a free Economic Development Seminar themed “Building Upon Our Legacy to Finance Our Future” which featured presenters from many diverse fields of business.
