Mayor Michael A. Nutter, NABJ President Kathy Times and PCVB President Jack Ferguson announced Philadelphia as the host City for the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), the largest organization of journalists of color in the nation.

NABJ plans to bring national media icons and the “who’s who” of Hollywood back to Philadelphia after 16 years, with its history of empowerment and action.

Thousands of the nation’s foremost journalists and media professionals are to take part in full and half day seminars designed to strengthen and enhance their skills in Philadelphia, August 3 – 7, 2011 in the newly-opened expansion space at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Workshops at the 2011 convention will teach current and future journalists new, relevant skills and push them to execute their professional goals.

The 2011 NABJ Convention and Career Fair is the premier venue for digital journalism education, career development, and the nation’s leaders in media, business, arts & entertainment and technology.
